the studio was created from a naive small-town uncertainty, internal battles and a couple good ideas. these were later met with the like-minds and persistent souls that now comprise the Exit Disco Studios team.

with ties from Texas to Mexico, New York to California, everyone here at the studio’s always looking to experiment and find ways to mix modernity & tradition with the unorthodox that we grew up with. for me, growing up on the American border with Mexico opened many perspectives. in terms of music & art, it also confused enough to expand the palette for new influences, production styles, recording methods & anything else that sounded and felt interesting

today, as assistant engineer for Grammy Award winning producer Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas, Grupo Fantasma . . . ) and lead mix engineer Will Grantham, at Adrian’s private studio Electric Deluxe Recorders, i’ve garnered experience & nuance from sessions with the likes of Curtis Harding, Hermanos Gutierrez, La Lom, Jumbo, Steve Berlin, and many other great acts.

at Exit Disco, I’ve recently been busy producing, writing or engineering for & with some of the most unique and exciting local talent, involved in scenes ranging from experimental electronica, alt-rock, folk, ambient, prog/psyche rock, rap, RnB, house and latin music. all releases TBD, 2025.

in late 2023, I spent a cathartic week in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, France, at the legendary Studios La Fabrique for Mix With the Masters, learning closely from Grammy Award winning mix engineer Leslie Brathwaite (Outkast, Pharrell, Beyonce, Björk . . .) as well as many other talented engineers, producers, artists and great humans from around the world with whom I still collaborate with to this day

as co-founder and integral part of life here at Exit Disco, singer-songwriter and producer Sofia Dessommes mixes the monotony of self-control with an innate & free-thinking approach to melody, arrangement and the right inflection. she understands what a song needs even when its difficult to let go of the excess, a trait that has placed her in nearly all projects done in-house. through her voice and love for all things ethereal & spell-binding, she has recently collaborated as a singer, producer & writer with several artists and producers (recently with close Austin collaborator, Carlos Marcelo) of different scenes around the city and world; all while working on completing her B.A. in Audio Production. 2025 is preparing to show a very interesting and transformative side for her in music and within the studio walls as well
